Uncrowded Lineups, Focused Development
There’s a certain phase in the surf journey that can feel frustrating.
You’re no longer a beginner. You catch waves. You can trim, you try to turn.
But busy line ups and shallow reefs don’t necessarily help you progress they often just reinforce hesitation.
We found a place in Nusa Tenggara Timur that will be perfect to guide you in gaining confidence with your surfing.
A right-hand point break that peels long and clean. A wave that invites repetition instead of punishment. A setting that makes improvement feel exciting again.
This retreat is designed specifically for early intermediates who want to gain confidence, flow, and real control in the water.
This surfing program is designed for:

Intermediate
You are comfortable catching waves. You are testing your limits by trying new surf spots and boards. You are starting to get comfortable duck-diving but haven't fully mastered it. You can angle your surfboard on takeoff and catch waves sideways, you can trim down the wave but still struggle to make a proper turn.
The listed surf level is the suggested experience level for this retreat.
If you are not sure if this retreat is the right one for you, please fill out the form below with a note, or simply contact us.
Who is this for? (Early intermediate surfers)
You are hooked with surfing but still struggling to position yourself in the line up, read the ocean well, you aren’t sure the stance on your surfboard is right, you miss techniques to perform basic turns. Still, you know how to catch waves, you know the feeling of trimming on the wave – you are just missing a solid foundation to bring it to the next level. You may also be transitioning from a longer surfboard to a short board and have yet to figure it out! You may have started to surf recently, spent so many hours in the water and need someone to show you the way.
In this retreat, you will increase your confidence and your awareness when surfing. You will learn the right techniques to surf better. You will catch plenty of waves as there are less crowds than most places!

Waves at this time of the year
November is late season in this part of eastern Indonesia, which makes it ideal for intermediates. Swells are typically smaller and more manageable, and the winds are often lighter and less dominant. The result is clean, playful surf that allows for repetition without intimidation. It’s a time of the year where the ocean softens, the lineups thin out, and progression becomes enjoyable rather than overwhelming.
